Birthstone September | Sapphire

A look in my closet proves: Blue is one of my absolute favorite colors. For this reason alone I was very excited about the birthstone of the month September, the sapphire. But since I have not only discovered gorgeous sapphires in the typically radiant blue, but also in other bright colors, this month you can look forward to a collection with something for every taste. Apart from red, sapphires come in all other shades and colors of the rainbow - and very few people know this. And this despite the fact that the name "sapphire" translated from the Greek means "blue stone".

The sapphire is not only the second hardest gemstone after the diamond, it is also considered one of the gems with the highest energy. Even in ancient Egypt, priests wore it in amulets to ward off evil and strengthen the spirit. In Asian countries it is considered the stone of truth and friendship. It symbolizes loyalty, knowledge and honesty, is said to promote concentration and self-discipline. And if you know someone who will soon celebrate his 16th wedding anniversary, sapphire jewelry is a suitable gift idea, because this anniversary is also called "sapphire wedding".

Speaking of weddings: In addition to diamonds, sapphires are also popular for engagement rings. Since Prince Charles presented Lady Diana with an engagement ring featuring a 12-carat sapphire in 1981, the precious stone has also been regarded as a symbol of "royal love. It didn't last with Charles and Diana, but at the latest since Prince William put this engagement ring on his Kate's finger in 2010, we all have faith in its magic again.

Curious now? Here you can find all the designs I created with sapphires for the current monthly collection in September. And of course I'm curious - which piece of jewelry is your favorite and in which color do you like sapphires best? I'm looking forward to your feedback - and if it's your birthday in September: happy birthday and all the best from us at JUVELAN!
